Pete will do anything to get out of the rest stop town of Hamelin. He’s the top of his class, scored a 1580 on his SATs, and eagerly awaits acceptance to Stanford. But all of Pete’s dreams come to a screeching halt when he’s involved in the accidental death of another teen. Out of desperation, he attempts to salvage his life by framing his best friend for the killing. Afterwards, Pete believes his life is back on track…
Until everyone over the age of eighteen suddenly dies.
As society collapses, Pete and his friends struggle to survive. They form alliances, betray each other, even commit murder – all in a world where illegal drugs are free, guns are prevalent, and cell-phones with a full battery are worth more than human life. Throughout all of this, Pete and his former best friend will clash in a high stakes game that impacts the survival of every kid in Hamelin.
Except - time is running out. Because in this new world, no one lives past eighteen.
